John Clayton, of Walnut, received the 2017 Iowa Farm Environmental Leader Award. The award, granted by the Iowa Governor’s Office, Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship and Iowa Department of Natural Resources, recognizes the efforts of Iowa’s farmers as environmental leaders committed to healthy soils and improved water quality. Clayton talks about environmental practices on his farm, and the results he’s witnessed since implementing such practices.
