The Commodity Classic convention is going strong in New Orleans. It is a time for commodity groups to come together and showcase the newest information and technology. It is also a time when policies are decided at a national level for the coming year. State Delegations come together and talk about the concerns they have and find a way to make a united front for the benefit of the industry. Iowa delegates had a wish list of issues as well.
Iowa Soybean Association Director Brent Renner is a Klemme, Iowa farmer. He talks about the process of delegates coming together for the benefit of all soybean growers.
Soy oil was what had the attention of the Iowa delegation. Obviously, demand is being affected by many outside factors, both in production and in geopolitical situations. This volatile marketplace means we need to see more plans in place to take advantage of the situation.
Of course, these aren?t the only concerns that Iowa farmers have. Renner talks about the price and availability of inputs, rises in fuel prices, and supply chain issues.
Renner?s message to Iowa soybean farmers is straightforward. They are there to address the issues for Iowa producers and are working hard to bring certainty to the policies that will affect our growers.
