The Iowa Turkey Federation Grill has been a go-to destination for hungry fairgoers for over four decades. They have been offering their traditional staples of a smoked turkey leg and a turkey tenderloin sandwich plus mixing in some new foods here and there. This year is no different.

When you arrive at the Turkey Federation’s spot just south of the Grand Concourse, you will see that there have been some updates to the location. ITF Intern Josie Kelly took a few minutes to discuss what is new at the location, starting with how it looks.

Of course, changes don’t just stop with the building and the serving areas. The menu looks different too, including a makeover to one of the old standards, the Turkey Tenderloin sandwich.

As an intern at the fair, Kelly says that she had to learn about the turkey industry in this state, and she is happy to share what she is learning with everyone who stops by.

Of course, the story begins and ends with the producers making the Iowa turkey industry an important part of our state’s agriculture economy. It’s a story that Kelly continues to learn but takes pride in sharing with consumers.

When it comes to the must-haves at the Turkey Grill, Kelly tells us her favorite.
