Doing things better next year, that’s one of the great parts about Iowa Agriculture is we’re always looking for improvement. Joe McClure with the Iowa Soybean Association says they are a great resource as they have all kinds of ideas based on replicated research with on farm cooperators to help improve ROI.
“We try to understand what farmers are asking, what the needs are across the state. We develop statewide approaches to our research with enough locations so that data can be relevant locally. So we want to make sure we cover the state of Iowa and then have the have the distribution so we can dial into a cropping district or part of the state and still have the locations there to really provide that story and insights for farmers, even if they didn’t do the trial.”
He said certainly they’d love to have you become an on-farm cooperator with the Research Center for farming. But there are other ways to see value as well.
“There’s a lot of folks that are not cooperators that are still paying into the check off and we owe them the same services and provide that data for them. We try to get that to them in a variety of methods, whether that’s presentations or written articles, or whatever the right way to go. That’s our goal is really to try to answer questions and remove roadblocks through our replicative trials.”
He says they are certainly driven to deliver unbiased yield results and you can certainly find out more by simply visiting iasoybeans.com.
