Today, the Utah Farm Bureau Federation’s Miracle of Agriculture Foundation, in partnership with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, donated nearly 3,000 food boxes to Iowa’s six Feeding America food banks. Food Bank of Iowa CEO Michelle Book said it’s a lucky day to get such an amazing donation.
Each 21-pound food box contains 20 items including cereal, tuna, beef stew, dry milk, peanut butter, jam, raisins, soup, chili, rolled oats, hot cocoa mix and a can opener- enough nutrition to feed a family of four for up to four days.
Formed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Miracle of Agriculture Foundation is the charitable arm of the Utah Farm Bureau Federation. It receives logistical and in-kind support from various Utah-based partners, including The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Troy Rindlisbacher of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said the partnership has allowed them to donate food across the country.
