The 2023 American Farm Bureau Federation Convention is currently taking place in San Juan, Puerto Rico. At the convention The American Farm Bureau Federation and John Deere announced a memorandum of understanding that will allow farmers to repair their own equipment.
AFBF President Zippy Duvall says the effort follows years of work by AFBF.
David Gilmore of John Deere says that the MOU will help farmers to more quickly return to the field after a breakdown.
Zippy Duvall says that farmers will now be able to diagnose and fix a problem on their own equipment.
AFBF hopes the MOU will serve as a model for other equipment manufacturers. Those discussions have already begun.
