Iowa soybeans are a sought-after commodity in the international market because of their quality and consistency. The Iowa Soybean Association is always looking for regions in the international market to expand soybean exports.
Grant Kimberley, Sr. Director of Market Development for the Iowa Soybean Association, says soybean exports are not as strong as they could be right now internationally because of some turmoil in overseas markets.
China is the primary importer of soybeans internationally and demand has dipped in the country because of Covid lockdown policies in the country.
Kimberley says that China is always an important international market, but it is not the only one.
Harvest season in Iowa is a popular destination for international trade groups to visit Iowa farms and soybean processors.
