So far during the dry-down and early harvest season, the weather has been cooperative for farmers.
That is USDA meteorologist, Brad Rippey. He says that the weather has been mild across large stretches of the country where row crops are grown.
Corn and soybeans are continuing to develop at a steady pace, with crop condition ratings stuck in neutral, says Rippey.
65% of corn is rated good to excellent this week, beans are at 64% good to excellent. Rippey says the next batch of disruptive weather could be arriving late this week with a tropical storm expected to hit the gulf coast.
