We know that it has been a very volatile marketplace over the past couple of years. However, nobody has suffered more than the dairy producers of our country. Whether it has been depressed prices, trade disagreements, or the actual dumping of milk due to poor markets, dairy producers are seemingly a facet of the industry that seems to have had more than its share of bad luck.
However, just like with the temperatures and yesterday?s grain trade, dairy is experiencing a jump higher and is going to enjoy the ride for however long it lasts. Shawn Hackett is with Hackett Financial Advisors, and he talks about what has been happening to the dairy industry in the past months and years.
Hackett says that geopolitical unrest and a sudden surge in demand for dairy products in China have caused the stars to align and bring much-needed strength into the market. Hackett believes we could be poised for a very strong dairy marketplace into the next year or so.
Hackett says it is almost a sigh of relief that this is coming not a moment too soon for dairy producers who have been hanging on by their fingertips and searching for recovery.
