Crazy

Some lawmakers and the ag industry agree: it?s important to get Sonny Perdue in office. National Farmers Union Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Communications Rob Larew says there?s concern in farm country, because agriculture secretary nominee Sonny Perdue isn?t in place at the USDA.
?We had this big budget cut proposed without an ag secretary there,” explains Larew. “We had the enormous wildfires in the south without an ag secretary. We have the farm economy which continues to get additional stress and we don?t have an ag secretary there. I hope we can get it through quickly. Farmers are ready to roll up their sleeves and work on the Farm Bill.?
Larew says the confirmation has been crazy from the beginning.
?The ag secretary was the last nominee to be named. The paperwork was so delayed by weeks to get to the senate and now it?s getting caught up in politics, separate from Perdue himself, I hope lawmakers decide it?s time to get an ag secretary in place.?
