COLFAX, Iowa – Demand for sheep for Eastern or Greek Orthodox Easter, which this year falls on next Sunday, April 12th, has kept feeder lamb prices high at the weekly Colfax auction.
On Saturday, 502 head of sheep sold; exclusively feeder lambs, averaging $2.36 per pound. No fed lambs were sold, and prices on the 99 head of goats ranged from $165-$180 per head.
