Biologicals are more than just a blanket term

In the ag industry, the term “biologicals” is often used as a blanket term. However, it’s supposed to be used to refer to naturally occurring inputs. Jason Little, vice president of ecosystem strategy with Indigo Agriculture, said they specialize in biologicals around the root system.

Little said that aiming for the root system is one of the most efficient ways to optimize nutrient uptake.

One of the biggest problems we face here in Iowa with our crops is soybean cyst nematode- and as such, there’s a lot of research going on in the state, especially at Iowa State University. Little said that biological solutions, particularly the ones Indigo offers, can help to expand the toolbox that farmers have against SCN.
