Those seeking to apply dicamba must once again meet the Environmental Proctection Agency’s training requirement.
Mark Groth serves as North American commercial stewardship weed control manager for Bayer’s Crop Science Division. Groth shares how Bayer Crop Science is helping farm applicators complete this certification requirement.
“We’ve made it easy for farmers to get their dicamba application training certification by offering the required training they need for XtendiMax and other dicamba herbicides approved for use in the Roundup Ready Xtend Crop System at no charge, in two online formats. We have a self-lead class that you can walk through at your own pace. We’re also offering a live webinar every Wednesday morning,” Groth says.
In addition to meeting state and federal requirements, the online trainings allow users to understand changes made to the product’s label.
“Some states do have changes, or differences from the federal label. Those are included with the training,” Groth says. “If an applicator will be making applications in one or more states, they’ll declare that in the training and see that additional information so they can be prepared in whatever state they’re making the application.”
Bayer’s trainings meet the federal requirement set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency. Both the self-paced online training and guided webinar training can be accessed through roundupreadyxtend.com/training.
“Go to roundupreadyxtend.com/training and choose a seamless experience – Either walk through the course yourself or go to a live webinar, lead by a Bayer Crop Science weed management expert, who will do the training in a classroom-like setting,” Groth says.
