Helping the next generation. The Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network is proud to sponsor a scholarship through the Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement (IFAA). Congratulations to Abby Feldpausch of Grundy County, as she is the latest winner of the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network scholarship media wise through the IFAA awards presented on the Bill Riley Stage at the Iowa State Fair this past Saturday. Abby is going into her senior year this year at Iowa State University.
“So, I grew up on my family’s sixth generation farm near Beaman, Iowa,” Feldpausch said. “We have a corn and soybean row crop operation. We also have a small cow calf herd, and we manage a few hog confinements as well. So, a really diverse kind of farm I grew up on, but it really taught me a lot about hard work and what we do in the ag industry to feed the world. And so, I think that along with the people in it and getting involved in organizations like 4-H and FFA and showing livestock really made me want to pursue a career in agriculture. And so, I’m excited to get to do that when I graduate in the spring of this year.”
Feldpausch spent last semester studying abroad in Greece, which she says was a very rewarding and educational experience.
“I’m excited to be back on campus, obviously, since I was gone last semester,” Feldpausch said. “I’m a part of Bacon Expo in October which is Iowa State’s big bacon event. So come on out to the Hanson Center October 14, I believe. I’m also on Senior Class Council this semester, so I get to plan the Senior Week in the fall and the spring semesters to celebrate our seniors. I’m also in the Sigma Alpha Ag Sorority, so bringing in some new freshmen girls will be exciting and, overall, just experiencing the College of Ag. It’s just second to none, and I’m excited to be back.”
