Sustainable aviation fuel was one of the key ag topics discussed during former Congressman Lee Zeldin’s confirmation hearing for next EPA administrator. Senator Jerry Moran and Ag Chair John Boozman helped form a Senate SAF caucus and Moran brought up SAF at EPA nominee Lee Zeldin’s confirmation hearing.

Sustainable aviation fuel could be a potential 36-billion-gallon biofuel market for corn, soybeans and other U.S. grown feedstocks.

Zeldin acknowledged that he is looking forward to further discussions surrounding SAF but Senator Jerry Moran of Kansas pressed the issue.

Zeldin didn’t take a position on SAF or tax credit rules that could decide the future for SAF. As for E15, Zeldin noted President Trump’s support of biofuels.

That was EPA Administrator Nominee Lee Zeldin.
