USDA’s “America’s Farms and Ranches at a Glance” report studies many categories of the American farm. One of those categories is farm income. One of the report’s authors, Katherine Lim, discusses some of the 2023 farm income trends.
She expands on the negative farm income trend.
The reliance of off farm income varies among farm households from 99% of households associated with off farm occupation farms to 11% of households that were the principal operator of a very large farm.
New data and trend categories were also included in the report, says Lim.
Lim explains the data found for on-farm storage.
Lim says larger farms are more likely to utilize precision ag technology according to the report.
