With the World Food Prize Borlaug Dialogues happening this week in Des Moines, we are seeing many international representatives in town—people who have a large say in trade relations with Iowa in particular and the U.S. in general. It is a great time for us to promote what our state has to offer. We have products that can help feed and fuel the world and technology that can help growers around the globe increase their productivity.
Moreover, it’s a time to talk about what we can do to continue to feed the world.
Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig is taking the opportunity to meet with those groups, and he talks about the topics that are at the top of people’s minds at events like this.
Naig says that it is a great way to exchange ideas and gives you a better appreciation for where we live, despite the challenges we face.
The Borlaug Dialogs run today through Thursday in Des Moines.
