Since the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is expiring at the end of next year, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association is making a major push on tax policy. In the latest episode of the Beltway Beef Podcast, NCBA President Mark Eisele said the fight for lower taxes is very important for producers.
Eisele shared his story on how a large tax bill almost ruined his dream of ranching with his family when he was inheriting his land.
Had they not been able to work around that situation, Eisele said the tax bill would have ripped away the ranch that had been in his family for over 100 years.
Eisele said Congress needs to provide a consistent goal for producers to strive for so they can be more specifically prepared.
