The American Farm Bureau Federation, along with 529 other organizations, urged lawmakers to prioritize programs that benefit all American families, emphasizing that they are too important to delay any further. Joe Gilson, the director of congressional relations for AFBF, stated that the letter called on Congress to pass a modernized farm bill.
Gilson says that the farm bill impacts all Americans.
Gilson also says the fact that more than 500 groups have signed onto this letter should tell Congress how important this issue is.
He says Farm Bureau members can help the effort by calling their elected officials and ask them to finish the process.
