Farm Credit Services of America has a team of specialists dedicated to the swine industry.
According to retail commercial lender Chris Ford, FCSAmerica offers specialized financing for commercial sow, nursery and finishing hog operations including facilities, livestock and operating expenses. He tells IARN that FCSAmerica has a four-and-a-half state territory.
?Primarily our customers are in Iowa, eastern Nebraska and South Dakota,? said Ford. ?We have a specialized swine team at Farm Credit Services of America where we have four specialized lenders that focus primarily on swine operations. We have four dedicated underwriters on our credit teams that work primarily with those operations as well. What we like to do is really engrain the credit and lending together and really build those relationships to help the customers prosper and have a lot of success.?
Ford says FCSAmerica has an extreme presence in Iowa. They also have the capacity to accommodate large scale commercial enterprise financing needs.
?We work with 18 of the top 20 producers as you look at the top 40 producers in the nation, so a lot of those producers are right here in Iowa,? said Ford. ?What we can provide is a lot of perspective around what operations do well, what we?re seeing across the industry, and how benchmarking is a key value to our customers. When you look at 18 of the top 20, we get a pretty good idea of the pulse of the industry across the nation, but also as you get down into Iowa in particular.?
Ford notes a few other key highlights of FCSAmerica?s swine portfolio. They are one of the leading associations within the nation’s largest agricultural financing network ? the Farm Credit System. Additionally, FCSAmerica offers significant lending capacity and competitive cost of capital, with diverse loan or lease packages for any size agribusiness.
