Taking a look at a new bio stimulant that shows results in early season stand establishment. You may or may not be familiar with the product called Biochar, which is a product basically made from things like timber stalks or corn stover and applied dry in tons per acre. Well, now they have managed to turn that into a liquid which can be applied in-furrow or combined with another trip, according to Keith Vodrazka as we learn about Evoia:
“So we developed a bio stimulant that is a liquid extract from Biochar and you know, you may ask why would you want to do that? Well, a lot of benefits have been seen from Biochar, but Biochar is a granular type form that’s, you know, applying many pounds, if not tons per acre. We basically are taking the benefit of that and putting in a liquid formulation that’s easy to use.”
Certainly that’s progress. As far as how you can find it:
“We launched our first product, which is known as Amplifier, as a bio stimulant seed treatment. So it is a formulation applied to seed very easily at a use rate of 1/2 ounce per 100 pounds of seed and mixes with many other things. Very compatible, very easy to use. Where we’ve really seen the benefits pay off is in early season seedling growth and vigor. It’s really proven to be very consistently and effective there.”
There’s no question of the importance of getting those seedlings up and out of the ground healthy, and establishing that root factory early in the growing season.
