KUQQ signed on the air October 1, 1996. The station?s call letters connect the station to its older, sister station KUOO. The station was called Double Q, 102. Double Q adopted a mostly automated rock format and included some local news and sports.
In time, the station rebranded and became Okoboji?s Best Rock, Q102. The station now features a local lineup of personalities and continues to feature several local sports broadcasts.
Community Involvement: Q102 is an original FM rock station in northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota. The station?s eighteen county signals has allowed Q102 to build relationships with longtime fans from across the region. Q102 features regional high school sports broadcasts, which has contributed to multiple connections built with communities throughout the station?s listening area.
