Thanks to the partnership with the U.S. Meat Export Federation, pork producers investing Checkoff dollars are seeing a strong return on investment with global opportunities.
Kelli Wicks, National Pork Board’s manager of international market development, says that investment is in promotion on the ground, working directly with buyers and importers to tell the pork story.
Checkoff dollar support comes in a variety of ways, including data and knowledge shared with USMEF. National Pork Board Vice President of International Market Development Courtney Knupp says the producer-led board of directors has strategically decided to provide more resources to USMEF for more in-market investments, helping to differentiate and diversify the U.S. Pork portfolio.
Knupp says a perfect example of collaboration is the recent member engagement by the USMEF.
Knupp says the National Pork Board is focused on the health and nutrition of international consumers, just like in the U.S. At the same time, the USMEF and their partnership ensures that those products are culturally appropriate.
Farmers are encouraged to sign up for the National Pork Board weekly email at www.porkcheckoff.org/email to keep updated with real results of Checkoff investments.
