Iowa FFA members from across the state have taken over Ames for the 97th annual Iowa FFA Convention. As the longtime host for the event, the staff at Iowa State University never pass up the opportunity to network with these future ag industry leaders and show them what it would be like to continue their academic careers there. Andy Zehr, Iowa State University student services, said the annual convention allows students to get familiar with the campus before making their college decisions.

Colleges like Iowa State University provide many opportunities for students to get hands-on experience in several ag career fields. Zehr said these experiences aren’t just limited to grain and livestock majors at ISU.

As the ag industry continues to evolve and expand, so do the career options for the next generation of agriculturists.

Zehr added that he will get to experience orientation from a different angle this year, as his son will be attending Iowa State University in the fall.
