Harvest Window About to Reopen

Ryan Martin

With harvest pace running behind schedule, growers are anxious to get combines rolling again. HAT meteorologist Ryan Martin says that will happen early next week and will continue for at least 8 days. But, before that, we have one more rain delay to deal with, ?Rain will push into the early on Sunday, and I expect we will see ? to ? of an inch of rain out of this system.?

Prior to this system, there will be good drying conditions. Areas that do not get a lot of rain on Sunday should be able to get back in the field quickly. Martin says an extended dry period starts on Monday, ?Monday right on through the following weekend we are dry. I don?t see any rain moving into the state until the 23rd or 24th.? He added that this will give growers a long stretch to catch up on harvest.
