On Thursday the United States House of Representatives passed the reconciliation bill by a vote of 218-214. The bill was unchanged from the Senate’s version which passed earlier in the week.

United States Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) opened his weekly conference call on Thursday by describing what he says are “key wins for farmers” in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

Grassley was also asked about some of the trade preference programs that were not included in the reconciliation bill. Grassley says that although the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) and the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) were not included in the bill, he says there is a path forward for a reauthorization and extension.

Senator Grassley made his comments on Thursday during his weekly ag conference call with farm broadcasters and reporters.
