On Sunday the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and allies or OPEC+ announced that it will cut oil production by 1.16 million barrels per day. On Monday morning during his weekly conference call with ag broadcasters and reporters, United States Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) was asked if the move will push the Biden administration and the EPA towards another emergency waiver to allow for sales of E15 throughout the summer.

The Biden administration announced an emergency waiver to allow for E15 sales during the summer months last year, making the announcement on April 11th. Without an emergency waiver sales of E15 would be banned from June 1st 2023 to September 15th 2023.

Senator Grassley says he is not very confident that a summer E15 waiver that allows for sales will be issued for this year.
