Staying ahead of the weeds is what the herbicide game is all about. Weeds adapt, needs change, and the ability to adapt is what keeps companies in business. On Tuesday, Corteva held a media field day at the Johnston, Iowa facility. It was here that they launched their next generation in weed management with Resicore? XL Herbicide.
Brandon Walter is the U.S. Product Manager for Corn Herbicides with Corteva Agriscience. He talked about the timeline of herbicide products over the past two decades. In 2016, when the needs of farmers changed, Corteva brought forth Resicore. Walter says that research shows that Resicore is the most widely used residual corn herbicide in 2019 and 2020.
Walter highlighted Corteva?s commitment to meeting the needs of producers in a timely manner.
To that end, Corteva announced the newest member in their corn herbicide family, Resicore? XL. Corteva has submitted it to the EPA for approval in 2022. It can be used both pre and post-emergence on corn to give flexibility to farmers in their weed control program
Walter talked about some of the things that make Resicore? XL different from the competition. It builds on the Resicore? technology. It will give control of over 75 weeds and grasses, including palmer amaranth, mares tail, and giant ragweed.
Resicore? XL will provide the widest application window in Corteva?s portfolio.
Walter says that with the flexibility Resicore? XL offers, it will fit in with multiple weed control programs.
